We are an Outdoor Education Centre and Community Hub, set in the quiet village of Austerfield, home to pilgrim father William Bradford. Situated seven miles south of Doncaster, we are adjacent to a 100 acre nature reserve which provides the perfect setting for outdoor based activities.
Due to the national lockdown commencing on Thursday 5th November, unfortunately the Centre will be closed for four weeks. This means sadly that we will be unable to host any of the exciting events advertised between then and Wednesday 2nd December.
As you can appreciate a lot of work has gone in to planning these events and we will be running them on new dates to be advertised as soon as we are able to reopen. We apologise for this inconvenience and really hope that you will be able to join us very soon to enjoy these activities. We will carry forward any deposits or payments made to secure your place on pre-booked sessions.
As our staff will again be on furlough, office cover will be limited, so please send any queries via email to email@example.com, and our volunteer team will get back to you as soon as possible.
Please see our kaddi Covid-19 Secure certificate
We hope to see you back at one of our events very soon.
Best wishes to you and your families from all of us at Austerfield.
Due to Covid-19 we lost all of our school spring & summer bookings – 90% of our annual income!
We are diversifying the business by running groups which comply with the latest guidelines, but it is hard when these keep changing!
A huge thanks to those of you who have kindly donated already!

All of the programmes we offer are linked to the national curriculum and include a range of fun activities to promote team building and problem-solving skills. All activities are lead by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors. We supply detailed risk assessments to provide you with the security you need to relax and enjoy observing your children at work and play. If you would like to arrange a site visit please call us, or to book a day or residential visit for your class please check our calendar first for available dates. Our aim is to give your children a ‘hands-on minds-on' learning experience to enrich both their academic and social development. Children who visit us for the day will work with a member of our staff, and follow the programme of study agreed and planned beforehand with their teacher. We also offer residential visits so that the children can spend more time on their studies and benefit from the adventure of being with their friends away from home. Our instructors greet groups on arrival and work with the children from 09.30 to 15.30, with a lunch break to fit your chosen programme.
Limited availability for camps in May, June & July 2021. Please email us for remaining dates or earlier bookings.
Whichever programme of study you choose will include extensive sections of the National Curriculum. Some of the programmes of study offered are a full day activity, but we can mix and match or work to a theme to provide a varied programme suiting your requirements – please contact us – we are here and keen to help. A visit to Austerfield is as hassle free as a class visit can be. Our education instructors plan and deliver exciting and engaging lessons, giving you the chance to join in the fun with your class, in the knowledge that our experience and risk assessments have resulted in a safe, effective learning environment. For more information about the activities we offer, take a look at our – A-Z of Activities.
