Austerfield's Environmental Community Hub

We are an Outdoor Education Centre and Community Hub, set in the quiet village of Austerfield, home to pilgrim father William Bradford. Situated seven miles south of Doncaster, we are adjacent to a 100 acre nature reserve which provides the perfect setting for outdoor based activities.

Centre Update On Coronavirus

Our current Plans

Like many other businesses we had to take the difficult decision to close following the government's advice on social distancing.

Unfortunately this leaves us unable to provide our normal services for schools and the community. Some of our customers have, understandably, been

in touch to postpone or cancel their bookings for the summer term due to the uncertainty around the current restrictions and when they may be lifted.

Clearly this situation will continue for some weeks yet, and we are unable to determine when, or on what basis, we will be able to reopen our doors.

Please be assured that we are doing all we can to protect our business, staff and volunteers, and we aim to reopen as soon as we are permitted to do so.

Once we have further clarity about this situation, we plan to contact any customers with outstanding bookings to clarify how they wish to proceed.

Depending on our own staff availability at this point, we may be able to honour the dates booked, or offer new future dates as applicable.

These plans will be reviewed and revised in line with government advice and updated here.

Please bear with us at this difficult time, and we hope to welcome you back very soon.  Best wishes to you and your families from all of us at Austerfield.

Our aim is to give your children a ‘hands-on minds-on' learning experience to enrich both their academic and social development. Children who visit us for the day will work with a member of our staff, and follow the programme of study agreed and planned beforehand with their teacher. We also offer residential visits so that the children can spend more time on their studies and benefit from the adventure of being with their friends away from home. Our instructors greet groups on arrival and work with the children from 09.30 to 15.30, with a lunch break to fit your chosen programme.
