We are an Outdoor Education Centre and Community Hub, set in the quiet village of Austerfield, home to pilgrim father William Bradford. Situated seven miles south of Doncaster, we are adjacent to a 100 acre nature reserve which provides the perfect setting for outdoor based activities.
Our aim is to give your children a ‘hands-on minds-on' learning experience to enrich both their academic and social development. Children who visit us for the day will work with a member of our staff, and follow the programme of study agreed and planned beforehand with their teacher. We also offer residential visits so that the children can spend more time on their studies and benefit from the adventure of being with their friends away from home. Our instructors greet groups on arrival and work with the children from 09.30 to 15.30, with a lunch break to fit your chosen programme.
All of the programmes we offer are linked to the national curriculum and include a range of fun activities to promote team building and problem-solving skills. All activities are lead by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors. We supply detailed risk assessments to provide you with the security you need to relax and enjoy observing your children at work and play. If you would like to arrange a site visit please call us, or to book a day or residential visit for your class please check our calendar first for available dates. Whichever programme of study you choose will include extensive sections of the National Curriculum. Some of the programmes of study offered are a full day activity, but we can mix and match or work to a theme to provide a varied programme suiting your requirements – please contact us – we are here and keen to help. A visit to Austerfield is as hassle free as a class visit can be. Our education instructors plan and deliver exciting and engaging lessons, giving you the chance to join in the fun with your class, in the knowledge that our experience and risk assessments have resulted in a safe, effective learning environment.
