Austerfield's Environmental Community Hub

We are an Outdoor Education Centre and Community Hub, set in the quiet village of Austerfield, home to pilgrim father William Bradford. Situated seven miles south of Doncaster, we are adjacent to a 100 acre nature reserve which provides the perfect setting for outdoor based activities.

We will be open for fun outdoor sessions for pre-schoolers on Monday & Tuesday mornings from 12th April in line with government guidance.

Please check for updates and email us to book a place due to limited numbers.

School Visits

We are pleased to announce we are open to receive groups during the summer term - new government guidance permits day visits from 12th April, and overnight visits already booked from 17th May. Please check guidelines and the government roadmap for any changes to this.

Schools are advised to check guidance in a few weeks regarding making new residential bookings, though we are happy to pencil provisional dates in with no obligation.

We have Covid-secure certification and supply detailed risk assessments for the visits. Our staff are taking twice weekly lateral flow tests and have all had their first vaccine.

We offer programmes linked to the national curriculum including a range of fun activities to promote well-being, team building and problem-solving skills.

All activities are lead by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors.

We can arrange a site pre-visit for staff on request.

Our aim is to give your children a ‘hands-on minds-on' learning experience to enrich both their academic and social development.

We also offer residential visits so that the children can spend time enjoying outdoor activities and benefit from the adventure of being with their friends away from home.

We still have availability for day and camp visits during the summer term, as current restrictions are relaxed & government guidelines allow school trips & residentials.

Covid-19 Update

As our staff are again on furlough, office cover is limited, so please send any queries via email to, and our volunteer team will get back to you as soon as possible.

We have lots of exciting events planned for future – as soon as as we are able to open safely again. Please see the Community pages for further details.

Any changes to the advertised programme will appear on Facebook.

Please see our kaddi Covid-19 Secure certificate

Thank you for your ongoing support and hope to see you back at one of our events very soon.

Fund Raising News

Due to Covid-19 we lost all of our main school bookings in 2020 – 90% of our annual income! We were not eligible for funding and so far it appears this year may be the same.

We are diversifying the business by running groups which comply with the latest guidelines, but it is hard when these keep changing!

With the ongoing uncertainty and further restrictions, we stand to lose a lot more income in 2021.

To help us through this very difficult period, we are aiming to raise £10,000 through donations on Just Giving – please click on the link below to find out more!A huge thanks to those of you who have kindly donated already!
